Hours: 12 hours and 30 minutes per week, term time only.
Salary: Hay 10 (£6,994 - £7,356 per annum).
This is a fixed term post until 18th March 2025 subject to a budgetary review.
Bromley Heath Infant School is looking to appoint a teaching assistant ideally with experience of working with children who have social and emotional needs. This will involve supporting children’s learning as well as the development of their social and emotional skills.
The successful applicant must have -
• A love of children
• Be patient and flexible
• Be able to use their own initiative
• Be able to champion and celebrate children’s achievements
Whilst the post is to work generally in the class, this will include working 1-1 with an individual for some of the time.
The post will also involve: -
• Assisting the class teacher and other professionals to deliver teaching and learning or support with positive behaviour or social and emotional skills 1:1 and in small groups.
• Liaising with teachers, parents and outside agencies.
• The ability to adapt and respond to the needs of children in the class.
• Working effectively in a professional team.
• Having high expectations for all children.
• A knowledge and understanding of child development.
An understanding of diabetes would be an advantage; however, training will be given.
