Aquatic Engineering & Construction; part of Acteon Group, is a global leader in laying and retrieving flexible and semi rigid products from the seabed in support of the renewables, oil and gas and telecommunications markets. The company has proven ability in shallow / deep water, and extensive experience of off and onshore installations, transpooling, recovery and decommissioning.
Aquatic are recruiting for an energetic and enthusiastic
Operations Manager to join the team on a
full time, permanent basis.
Based in South View Place,
Peterhead , the successful candidate will direct and develop onshore and offshore operations for Aquatic in line with our Business Plan.
You will lead strategy for operations to maximise margin but always within effective HSEQ practices.
Duties/Responsibilities - Insist on a proactive focus on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality throughout Operations. Require and direct equivalent emphasis from the whole of the operations management team
- Actively and proactively lead, develop and mentor the Operations teams both Onshore and Offshore. Ensure strong teamwork and relationships between all parts of the team
- Understand and document the costs of doing tasks within Aquatic, establishing effective WBS controls. Manage on a day-to-day basis fabrication and maintenance projects in conjunction with the engineering team and within time/cost/quality budgets
- Deliver optimum results for individual projects to meet or exceed objectives developed in conjunction with Sales and Service Delivery teams:
- Work with the necessary stakeholders to develop budgeting, forecasting & financial controls
- Maintain & improve key supplier relationships globally, feeding into cost effective supplier bids and tenders
- Identify and secure optimum resources for Operations team, through permanent infrastructure or contractor support for the whole of the projects/operations schedule
- Responsibility and accountability for performance of onshore team during preparation (and execution as appropriate) and offshore team during execution of all project works
- Proactively participate in Management Review programmes
Requirements
- Engineering Apprenticeship and (H)NC in Mechanical Engineering, or suitable HND or degree, sufficient to demonstrate the ability to analyse the situations in Operations and provide effective solutions
- Mechanical and hydraulic understanding
- Flexibles installation and industry knowledge
- Workshops tools and techniques knowledge
- HSEQ Qualifications preferred
- Strong leadership skills, you will be an expert in getting the most from the people in the team
