Job description
As an Outreach support volunteer supporting the Complex Case worker, you will play a pivotal role within the local community promoting our services and engaging with our service users/individuals/ and partner agencies.
Your role will be to support the team to engage and support individuals who have multiple needs/substance misuse . You will be responding to referrals, targeting known locations within the community actively engaging and building a positive relationship with people who are experiencing problems with substance misuse.
Our service hubs are in Maidstone, Gravesend and Tunbridge Wells and we are looking for a volunteer who will be happy to travel across the 3 sites with our Complex Needs worker.
Responsibilities
The type of person CGL are looking for would need to be reliable and mobile as they will be volunteering across our 3 services, have good verbal and written communication skills and will need to be able to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals/ agencies supporting our more complex service users, and to feel confident to liaise on behalf of the service user if needed.
Volunteers bring a range of skills and experiences that complement the work we do. It also provides an opportunity for individuals to use existing skills to support our services, develop new skills and gain experience in the health and social care sector, specifically substance misuse treatment field. We also offer volunteers access to some high-quality training as our staff in addition to ongoing support through supervision.
