Job description

Abatec is looking to recruit an experienced freelance Project Manager to join our client – a leading, tier 1, regional civil engineering contractor. Our client works on a major highway scheme in Devon and Cornwall.

The successful candidate that will be responsible for delivering the various schemes will also ensure all safety, technical, and commercial objectives are met, while simultaneously enhancing the reputation of the client.

As Project Manager you will:

• Manage the engineering resources to ensure technical compliance to the design specifications.
• Provide weekly/monthly progress reports.
• Be responsible for ensuring sufficient and competent resources are in place for the delivery of the project and the project objectives are communicated.
• Evaluate all subcontractors, providing feedback to the Commercial Manager.
• Be responsible for Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality matters.
• Liaise with site teams responsible for the project being delivered on time and within budget.

Our client requires a Site Agent / Project Manager with:

• HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a similar position on major highway projects involving earthworks, structures, and drainage
• SMSTS, First Aid at Work, CSCS Managers card, National Highways Passport etc.

Salary/Benefits:

• 400 – 450 LTD
