The Opportunity:
The Record-to-Report (R2R) Accountant will provide technical expertise and guidance to the members of the
accounting team and be substantially involved in the implementation of process
improvements for the different accounting processes.

About the role:
As part of this role, the successful candidate
will:
Responsibilities:
- To
have a strong understanding of account reconciliations, including, bank
reconciliations, balance sheet accounts, management accounts, statutory
accounts, etc., and resolve the reconciling items promptly.
- Record
and review journal entries in SAP for the assigned entities/regions in
line with the established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Manage
a range of special projects with minimal assistance.
- Assist
the Accounting Manager in the management of the team while the Team Lead
is on maternity leave including but not limited to delegation of
activities, reviewing account reconciliations and journals, and ensuring
compliance with SLAs.
- Act
as the process Subject Matter Expert by providing on-the-job
training/technical support to new team members.
- Responsibility
for proactively and continuously exploring opportunities to increase
efficiencies within the service.
- Perform
and review period-end activities per the financial close schedules and the
established guidelines.
- Provide
support for internal and external financial audits.
Experience Required
Essential Criteria:
To be successful in this role you will need:
Skills and Experience:
- Qualified
Accountant, or part-qualified accountant with extensive relevant Finance
experience; experience in Finance Operations and/ or Finance Shared
Services in a professional services organization is preferred.
- Accounting
Packages experience with SAP experience a plus
- Proven
ability to influence, interact, and consult with senior leaders regarding
finance processes, guidelines, and compliances.
- Some
experience in a relevant field (professional services firm and/or shared
service centre is preferred)
- Strong
analytical skills
- Proven
ability to influence, interact, and consult with senior leaders regarding
finance processes, guidelines, and compliances.
- Solid
understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and general accounting principles
- Excellent
time management and organizational skills
