Job description
For August 2024, Bangkok Patana School seeks an Instructional Coach: Lead Practitioner to join our Primary School. This new and pivotal position underscores our commitment to enhancing teacher capacity and supporting student growth.
The role
This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to further develop their instructional practice and middle leadership skills, working alongside all year teams in a large and vibrant international school. You may may be a leading teacher within your current setting and already have knowledge and understanding of coaching approaches. You will certainly be an excellent and experienced classroom practitioner who has developed the knowledge and skills to share and develop practice of colleagues with support, constructive challenge, and effective feedback.
This post has three primary areas of responsibility:
In the strategic domain, you will collaborate with the Primary Leadership Team (PLT) and middle leaders, leveraging student data analysis to inform development strategies and action plans. Additionally, you will provide expertise in instructional practices, lead Continuous Professional Learning initiatives, and support new staff onboarding.
In the instructional realm, you will work closely with teachers across the Primary school, assisting in instructional decision-making, modelling effective strategies, team teaching, and providing coaching feedback. You will also contribute to lesson and curriculum planning as well as celebrating student learning through events like the annual 3-way conference.
Operationally, you will ensure high-quality provision and seamless day-to-day operations of the Primary school by managing all staff absences, allocating necessary cover, and line managing the cover team. Additionally, this role will require the successful candidate to teach, across various classes, with a timetable of up to 40%.

Effective organisational and time management skills are paramount to managing the Primary school’s cover requirements. This component of the role will require the successful candidate to start their daily early and be strategic in assigning cover for unplanned and planned absences.
