FinTrU has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Data Science to work in partnership with FinTrU’s senior leadership to create and deliver on our Product Strategy and Vision.
This role can be based at any of our FinTrU Office locations in: Derry/L'derry, Letterkenny, Porto, or Belfast.

As the head of the Data Science team, you will lead the build out of our capabilities and have a primary focus on our product development journey.
Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with Senior Leadership across FinTrU to develop and implement FinTrU’s AI & ML strategy
- Collaborate with Product Management to define, inform, challenge & develop a roadmap of market-leading SaaS RegTech solutions
- Own all aspects of Data Science including development and delivery of a forward-looking roadmap for our technology products
- Research and analyse industry and technology trends to identify opportunities to enhance our product offerings and our efficiency through adoption of new techniques, technologies, tooling, automation and best practices
- Make balanced decisions on when to build/buy/partner in order to achieve the right combination of value and speed to market
Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience delivering AI & ML solutions from problem definition through build/train/deploy of NLP based models to production in a corporate or commercial environment
- Track record of building, developing and motivating high performing cross-disciplinary teams of Data Scientists, ML Engineers & Data Engineers
- Ability to explain ML & AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Able to balance between client focus and technical expertise which will enable you to develop and implement strategic plans while responding to client needs
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
- Exposure to delivering AI/ML projects for regulated industries
Desirable :
- Experience with ML/AI tooling in cloud environments
- Previous experience in a client-facing role enabling you to work with FinTrU's clients to clearly articulate the role and operation of models within our Products
