Payroll Advisor (Remote Available)
Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Payroll Advisor to join our well-known and established client’s team. As Payroll Advisor, you will have a commitment to quality contributions to payroll processing and employee satisfaction.
Hours Mon-Fri 09:00-17:00
Salary £12.55p/h
12-month temporary contract.
Shropshire based? Hybrid, 1-2 days home working OR full-time officed based.
Outside of the West Midlands? The option for remote working is available!
Responsibilities including, but not limited to
- Process & calculate payroll in a timely manner, ensuring laws, regulations & policies are adhered to.
- Collect and validate data from various sources, including employee timesheets, leave records, and benefits information.
- Calculate wages, salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll-related elements based on employee records, contracts, and relevant payroll regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation, including payroll registers, tax forms, pay slips, and other relevant documents.
- Collaborate with HR teams to obtain employee data and address any payroll-related inquiries or discrepancies.
- Process changes, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, and benefit changes.
- Conduct payroll reconciliations and audits to ensure accuracy, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors.
- Assist in preparing and submitting payroll-related reports, filings, and payments to relevant authorities, such as tax authorities and social security agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information in compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to streamline payroll processes, increase efficiency, and improve accuracy.
Ideal Candidate
- A minimum of two years, hands-on, relevant experience proven in a similar role.
- CIPP qualification would be advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel with strong payroll system aptitude.
- Strong operational understanding of current UK payroll legislation.
- Eager to learn and continuously update payroll knowledge and skills through training and professional development opportunities.
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to accurately work to strict deadlines.
- Experience working in a busy, high volume payroll environment, supporting multiple administrative tasks with a flexible approach to supporting the payroll cycle.
- Ability to multitask, plan and prioritise own workload in a pressurised environment.
- Effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Flexible, determined, personable & approachable.
- Willing to go the 'extra mile' in delivering best in class payroll service to both internal and external customers.
- Team player, demonstrating flexibility within a busy payroll department.
