Our business Our Oil & Gas Operator client are recruiting for a Project Construction Engineer / Shutdown Coordinator on a Tar project until end of the 2024 initially.
What can we offer you Fantastic opportunity to work for a well renowned Oil & Gas Operator on a major turnaround project at Terminal.
Key Responsibilities and background: You will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and executing shutdown and turnaround activities. Responsible for ensuring that shutdown projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Your primary objective will be to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency during plant shutdowns while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements. The key element to the role shall be effective planning through asset integrated scheduling.
- Planning and Coordination:Collaborate with various departments to develop comprehensive shutdown plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Risk Assessment:Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions and hazards during shutdown activities.
- Resource Management:Coordinate the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, materials, and contractors, to ensure all necessary resources are available and utilized effectively.
- Safety Compliance:Ensure all shutdown activities comply with company safety policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards. Identify and address any safety concerns or hazards to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Communication:Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the shutdown process. Facilitate regular communication and updates to ensure alignment across departments and address any issues or challenges that arise.
- Quality Assurance:Implement quality control measures to ensure that all maintenance, repairs, and upgrades performed during shutdowns meet or exceed industry standards and company expectations.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate records of shutdown activities, including project plans, schedules, progress reports, and budget expenditures. Prepare comprehensive post-shutdown reports to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement:Proactively identify opportunities to optimize shutdown processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs through the implementation of best practices and lessons learned from previous shutdowns.
Critical Skills & Personal Attributes: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- Significant experience in shutdown/turnaround coordination within the oil and gas, petrochemical
- Strong understanding of shutdown planning principles, project management methodologies, and maintenance best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate cross-functional teams.
