Job description
We are Looking for a Project Manager to join the Children services for Bedford borough Council.
To lead on the implementation of new systems and processes that will increase access to nutrition and healthy meals for children and young people in Bedford Borough. To develop an 'opt out' scheme to ensure those families who are entitled to Free School Meals are accessing the meals for their children. To support with the promotion of access to childcare and physical activity and to reduce education inequalities in Bedford.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* To be the main lead of the project and manage the successful delivery of the program from start to end
* To attend and organise relevant meetings, task groups, working groups etc with relevant partners
* To think creatively about how new processes could be implemented in order to ensure efficiency and reduce the need for manual eligibility checks in the future.
* To organise appropriate training that may be needed for individuals who will be involved in the process
* To work in partnership with other agencies and departments i.e. DWP, Housing, Children's Services, to set processes up
* To support to develop effective digitalized systems to support the process
* To be able to confidently report back on progress made and the systems implemented to appropriate boards and individuals.
* To lead on the evaluation of the project against agreed outcomes
* To accurately assess, evaluate and report on key outcomes for young people
* To prepare and present project reports to the board
* Comply with and promote equality and diversity policies as an employee within the organisation. It is the responsibility of every member of staff to ensure the practical application of this policy
* Comply with the Health & Safety Policy (all employees are required to take care of their own health and that of other employees in complying with their statutory duties)
* To participate in the appraisal processes determined by management
* Comply with Bedford Borough's policies in relation to confidentiality in the work place.
* Comply with GDPR and the Data Protection Act and any other legislation and guidance in relation to the exchange and storing of data
* To undertake any other duties and responsibilities, as appropriate to the post, as determined by their line manager
Requirements
* Must hold a degree level qualification
* Experience of working within education
* Evidence of designing and implementing creative processes and systems
* Evidence of project management
