Risk & Compliance Manager

Job description
The Risk & Compliance Manager will oversee Right Legal Group’s compliance and risk management frameworks and lead the process of ensuring compliance with relevant SRA legislation across the network.
They will act as an ambassador for Right Legal Group’s risk and compliance culture and standards and present risks and issues affecting the business to the board.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop the existing risk management framework to ensure all areas of the business have been thoroughly assessed and recommendations for improvements submitted
- Develop the existing compliance manual to ensure all policies and procedures are to the required standard
- Complete internal and branch office audits
- Take ownership of annual compliance training
- Be the main point of contact for compliance queries within the business
- Provide a monthly overview of risk and compliance performance to the COLP
- Present a quarterly risk and compliance update to Board
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all business stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of services and continued growth
- Keep up to date with and inform the Board on legal and regulatory changes impacting the business
- Review, draft and implement internal policies and compliance processes, where necessary
- Maintain our risk management and breach registers
- Be an ambassador of the Right Legal Group culture
- An understanding of SRA regulation, ideally at qualified solicitor level
- Professional experience in a compliance role
- Experience of creating and leading on full regulatory and compliance programmes
- Analytical with experience in collecting and analysing data and information
- Excellent attention to detail and problem solving/root cause identification skills
- Effective active listening and communication skills including written, oral and presentation
- Essential to manage internal and external stakeholders within all levels of an organisation
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
- A proven team player able to work collaboratively
- Self-motivated and ability to work under own initiative
- Minimum intermediate user of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Good time management and able to work to tight deadlines
