Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)?
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as One-to-One SEND Teaching Assistants in our SEN hub.
Our partnered school is a foundation school for pupils aged 3 to 11 and has a resourced provision for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide personalised support to children who require additional assistance, contributing to their development and well-being in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one support to children with special educational needs and disabilities in our SEN hub.
- Assisting students with their learning and personal care needs, including toileting and other personal hygiene tasks.
- Implementing individualised learning plans and behaviour management strategies to support students' progress and development.
- Building positive relationships with students, providing encouragement, reassurance, and emotional support as needed.
- Supporting students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities, adapting teaching materials and resources as necessary.
- Collaborating with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure the individual needs of each student are met effectively.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs, and participating in review meetings as required.
- Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS check to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
- Previous experience working within a school setting, ideally in a role supporting children with SEND.
- A QTS or relevant teaching or education qualification, or a willingness to undergo training and development in this area.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the individual needs of children with SEND.
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students.
- Knowledge or experience of autism would be advantageous but not essential.
