For the successful Senior Bridge Engineer, our client is offering.
- Salary £60,000
- 08.00 to 17.30 Monday to Friday (Must be flexible due to projects)
- Permanent Position
- 37.5 hours per / week

The Role of the Senior Bridge Engineer.
The Senior Bridge Engineer plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the technical aspects of the engineering projects and will possess extensive expertise in structural analysis, design, and construction, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of projects that meet all applicable standards and regulations. The Senior Engineer will also mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Lead the technical aspects of bridge engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Conduct comprehensive structural analysis and design for various bridge types, including concrete, steel, and composite bridges.
- Prepare and review technical documents, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project managers and other team members.
- Manage engineering deliverables for projects, ensuring these are completed on time.
- Coordinate and collaborate with clients, sub-consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Where required provide oversight at construction phase, providing technical expertise and ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance their skills and professional development.
- Conduct workshops to promote technical competency within the team.
- Conduct thorough quality reviews of engineering calculations, designs, and documents.
- Adhere to BB-ENG-QC (Quality Control) procedure to ensure the accuracy and integrity of technical deliverables.
- Adhere to all applicable engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bridge engineering technologies and methodologies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, such as conferences, workshops, and seminars.
- Actively work towards achieving professional accreditation with either ICE or IStructE.
What our client is looking for in a Senior Bridge Engineer.
- Advanced Qualification (Master’s degree preferred, minimum Bachelor’s degree/foundation degree/HNC /HND) in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Close to/ Working towards professional accreditation with either ICE or IStructE
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in bridge engineering design and construction
- Expertise in structural analysis and design software, such as AEC RSA, MIDAS, and IDEA StatiCa.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel and work on-site as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
