If you are, then we have an excellent opportunity for you to join our Medicine Divisional Leadership Team within Aneurin Bevan University Hospital of Wales.

The Divisional Nurse for Medicine holds the most Senior Nursing position within the Division, professionally accountable to the Executive Director of Nursing, is responsible for the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards and advancing leadership competence and capacity within nursing. . As the Divisional Nurse you will provide leadership and professional advice and support to the Medicine Divisional team, leading clinical governance and quality and patient safety. The Divisional Nurse will form part of the Medicine Senior Leadership team, working closely with the General Manager and Divisional Director to provide professional leadership through visible and engaging leadership, demonstrating the organisations values and behaviours.

The post holder will influence and contribute to Divisional and Corporate initiatives, particularly with respect to continuous improvement in patient care delivery and clinical quality. Providing assurance of proactive management of clinical improvement plans, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond to identified risks.

They will be responsible for implementing national nursing policy and professional advice to the Divisional Director and General Manager on clinical nursing issues to ensure high quality and effective services within the Division of Medicine. The post holder will be expected to work proactively and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the Health Board discharges its functions effectively and efficiently and professional standards are adhered to.

The post holder also plays a key role in working in partnership with local authorities the Older Persons Commissioner, NHS executive, Welsh Government and third sector parties to influence policy development.

The post holder will be required to participate in the Health Boards on call arrangements.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The Divisional Nurse is an integral part of the Divisional Triumvirate, working in partnership with the Divisional Director and General Manager. The post holder will possess exceptional strategic and operational expertise to deliver and evaluate progress in achieving the Health Boards vision in achieving excellence in Healthcare.

Holding the most senior nursing position within Urgent Care the Divisional Nurse will provide strategic, visible, clinical and professional leadership, for nursing across the Division. Providing specialist expertise for patient safety, quality and experience, innovation, efficiency and performance that improves quality of care and patient outcomes; driving transformation through agreed improvement models.

The post holder will influence and contribute to Divisional and Corporate initiatives, particularly with respect to continuous improvement in patient care delivery and clinical quality.
