Post title: Events Coordinator

Hours: 1929.29 Annualised hours contract – flexible based on 37 hours per week Sunday to Saturday (will include weekend and evening work)

Salary: £23,344.42 - £24,616

Location: Brooksby

The SMB Group is a highly successful FE college, formed through the merger of Stephenson College and Brooksby Melton College. We are an innovative and highly responsive centre for education and training with campuses in Coalville, Melton Mowbray and Brooksby.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and talented professional to join our events team working at our beautiful 850-acre Brooksby Hall. We are passionate about exceeding our client’s expectations whether it is for a wedding, private party or a corporate occasion.

We are seeking a passionate and vibrant Events Coordinator to join a small team offering a highly professional and personal service for all events and functions. You will oversee the whole sales process from initial enquiry, to selling the venues via show rounds, converting into a confirmed booking and a detailed plan from start to finish.

Your ability in making our clients feel welcome is essential as is your management of the event and being on hand to assist the clients on their needs.

You will need excellent communication, organisation and time management skills with an eye for detail and the ability to use your own initiative. You will have a hands-on approach, disciplined with a right first time work ethic and be able to work autonomously. You will ideally have experience of working in the hospitality industry, with operational experience in the successful execution of events.

You will demonstrate an ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive, can-do attitude, being customer focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional levels of guest service.
You will be working weekends and evenings when required along with peak periods.

You must also be fully IT literate, be able to have advance skills on Microsoft office and be able to work social media effectively and professionally and some experience in Marketing would be beneficial.

Applicants will need their own transport to travel to Brooksby Hall.

You will require a minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject and, although not essential, will ideally possess customer care and first aid qualifications.
