Your role in our mission
You’ll be the Data Migration Lead on one of our largest ever investment programmes, deploying an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system across our Sales, Service, Order Management and Finance functions.
You will play a vital role in this exciting and critical programme, building the strategy and approach to manage the data migration from our existing systems to our new ERP solution.
You’ll understand all of the data across our in scope business areas, and develop a strategy of what data to archive, migrate or cleanse prior as part of the new system implementation. You will partner across the business to understand how data is used, and with our Data team to manage impacts on our data platform.
What you’ll do
- Identify all data types from in scope business areas, documenting the data sources, ownership, current systems used to process data, reporting and analytical use cases, along with a clear understanding of the quality of the underlaying data
- Develop a strategy for each data type for transitioning to the new ERP system, in line with the overall incremental delivery plan
- Document and own the data requirements for all elements of the ERP system
- Act as the key interface between our internal delivery teams, our implementation partners and business areas in terms of data requirements across the programme
- Partner with the Data, Product and Technology teams to fully understand our current systems landscape and to implement the data migration strategy
- Support the migration of business reporting and analytics to new capabilities as required
- Be a key member of the ERP programme leadership team, driving the team and wider business to achieve our strategic goals on time and to the agreed cost / quality measures
Requirements
- You have significant experience as a Data Migration Lead with a strong background in implementing Microsoft Dynamics solutions, covering both Customer Engagement and Finance & Operations domains
- You will be familiar with managing large volumes of data, using tooling to support the ETL process, and you’ll be comfortable with dealing with data from multiple legacy systems requiring significant transformation
- You are a creative problem solver, you know how to influence stakeholders at all levels to step back, understand the root cause of a problem and develop innovative solutions
- You have a proven ability to lead cross functional teams, inspiring them to achieve ambitious goals
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and can effectively convey complex technical and business concepts to stakeholders at all levels
- You thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities, whilst maintaining focus on the big picture in terms of strategic goals / timescales
- You have a track record of delivering high-quality products on time and on budget, with a keen attention to detail and a focus on being better every day
- You are a 'doer' and are not afraid to make decisions and take calculated risks to drive the product forward, ensuring that innovation, execution and business value are balanced
