YOUR ROLE
This role is primarily responsible for the management & maintenance of the freight booking, booking optimisation and customer collection/pickup/final mile delivery arrangement and onward forwarding requirements.
This is a Monday – Friday position, 9am – 6pm working 1 in every 4 Saturdays with the following Monday off.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
• Manage and take responsibility for all customer bookings after acceptance/job creation.
• Act as internal & customer facing front end to all operational process on active shipment.
• To ensure pickup/delivery of the shipment at origin/destination you will instruct transportation requirements and expectations.
• Control, prepare and distribute all required import/export documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.) complying with regulations and internal procedure.
• Oversee shipment status, identify and ensure resolution of active shipment incidents.
• Maintain comprehensive operational records in line with company procedures, including but not limited to documentation, communication (bookings, instructions, notification/acceptance of additional charges, last minute ad-hoc service changes etc).
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrable experience working within an Air Operation with a key understanding of industry terminology and documentation.
You will need to be able to communicate effectively and customer service will be at the heart of everything you do.
You’ll need to be highly organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment whilst adhering to tight timescales, able to think on your feet and problem solve to provide workable solutions to customers.
