Job description
Priory Hospital Arnold , near Nottingham, provides acute and psychiatric intensive care services to those in need across Nottinghamshire. We work closely with referring Trusts to achieve minimum lengths of stay, and are able to provide an extension to NHS care pathways during times of fluctuating demand. The service offers a multidisciplinary team approach, working collaboratively to support patients through periods of crisis. The hospital comprises of 4 wards, 2 Acute wards and 2 PICU wards with a total of 52 inpatient beds.
You will lead the OT team, including OTs' and OT Assistants, as part of the wider Therapies Team at the hospital. To develop and provide the necessary assessments and treatments within a busy acute adult mental health and PICU service.
The lead role will take responsibility of the development of the OT service in addition to;
- Providing clinical specialist assessments for the patient group
- Reporting the effectiveness of the service to clinical governance and other performance related meetings
- Advocate and promote the role of OT within the acute/PICU setting
- Form positive working relations with the wider MDT
- Upskill and develop the OT workforce
- Embedded up to date practices and evidence based research into the service from an OTs perspective.
The ideal candidate would be; - Process driven, an understanding for the therapy pathway to support the patient journey from admission to discharge - Adaptable, to be able to meet the changes of the patient groups needs whilst also establishing stability through purposeful and meaningful activity - Seeking excellence – the drive to change and continuously improve whilst being able to communicate the need for improvement through evidence and data.
