£35,000
- £40,000 per annum plus benefits (dependent on experience)
Here at Serco, we partner with governments to provide public services across Defence, Justice & Immigration, Transport, Health, and Citizen Services. We are currently recruiting for a Transport Compliance Manager to join our Fleet team to support the associated Contract Management Team and onsite CPC holder, via the Regional Transport Manager, to deliver a compliant fleet service ensuring the contracts legislative obligations of the Operators licences.
As our Transport Compliance Manager, you will follow all vehicle maintenance requirements ensuring all vehicles and plant are services and maintained to the specification outlines under the manufactured guidelines and the Operator licence profile. You will liaise with all third-party service providers to ensure all daily defects, breakdowns and punctures on our vehicles and plant are registered and dealt with within the relevant timeframe.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Proactively manage the yearly maintenance planner to ensure the vehicle fleet is maintained, services, and managed in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Daily management of the vehicle requirements for all relevant departments across the contract(s).
- Ensure the legislative obligations of the Operator’s Licences are fully compiled with within the defined contract/regional area. In particular the General Undertakings and the requirements for “continuous improvement and effective control” of the associated ES Contract(s).
- Ensure the contract meets all legislative obligations, undertakings and requirements outlined in the Operator licence which all includes the General Conditions covered under section 22 of the goods vehicle licencing of operators act 1995.
- Highlight, record and notify the Contract Manager, Contract CPC Holder, and Fleet Capability & Strategy Manager.
- of any departments failing to comply with the Company Policies and Directives relating to Road Transport and Dangerous Goods, including Animal by Products.
- Monitor third party service providers to ensure their compliance with the contract SLA and their legislative obligations.
- Ensure the daily availability target of the core fleet is maintained at 100% (excludes accident damage and vehicle related negligence by drivers or operators).
- Maintain and keep updated the fleet inventory and fixed asset register, including current asset locations, through FMS.
- Ensure all MOT results are reported, and failures investigated.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Thorough understanding of UK and EU road transport legislation.
- Ideally will hold a Transport Manager CPC or possess equivalent knowledge (training will be provided to achieve this qualification if not already held).
- Previous experience in a fleet management role.
- Effective communication skills and ability to build strong professional relationships with stakeholders.
