About the organisation:

Operating for over 45 years, Access Community Trust is a multi-award-winning charity and provider of housing, youth services, health/wellbeing and employability services across Suffolk and Norfolk. Our ambition is to deliver a service driven by passion and enthusiasm that reaches all vulnerable and socially excluded/isolated people without exception.

Hours: 20 hours per week which is worked across a 7 day rota between the hours of 07:00 - 21:15. Some weekend working will be required.

Pay: £21,255 per annum (pro rata for part time working)

Principal Responsibilities

The key responsibilities will require the postholder to work proactively liaise with customers, building a rapport and being the first point of contact in order to help effectively deal with enquiries regarding services via a variety of direct and indirect methods, e.g. email, telephone calls, drop-ins etc., carry out move in and risk assessments, liaise with partner agencies with the ability to signpost to internal and external support agencies, helping provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment, helping customers begin to recover from the trauma experienced through homelessness.

Experience

We actively encourage those with lived experience to become support workers and therefore whilst vocational experience is heavily valued, equally so is that of someone with lived experience. To encourage applications from all sections of the community we view the role of support worker to need key skills around listening, supporting, guiding, enabling and encouraging. Full training can be provided to candidates evidencing the key skills listed above, however if you have previously worked in a similar role or have transferable skills then we would also welcome and encourage your application.
