My client is a world class leader within their field. With 4 offices across the UK and employing over 500 people they are well placed to offer fantastic opportunities to all. Operating within Highways, Rail and Water they are a notable name within the industry acting as both main contractor and sub-contractor. They are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) – My client is also keen to hear from Quantity Surveyors, Project Quantity Surveyors located in the Midlands – Ideally based for those located within Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Nottingham or Derby. The Day rate is £350 - £400 per day based upon experience. They can offer an initial contract of 4 months with is likely to be extended based upon their current work load My client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within their Highways division initially focussing on a new dual carriage way valued in excess of £30million. This project is due to start imminently with public review already done they are now ready to break ground. As the main contractor , you the SQS will see this project involve Earthworks, Utilities, Roundabout realignment, Street lighting, Surfacing and white lining. Role Details:

• Site based
• Minimum of 10 hours per day
• Working within a commercial team of 5 you will have a particular focus on procurement and sub-contractor accounts
• References from the last 12 months will be required
• Reporting to Commercial manager and Project Manager
• Strong personality who will challenge incorrect financials to ensure cost saving for the client
• Providing guidance to Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Requirements

• 8 years minimum in the position of Quantity Surveying
• 3 years minimum worked within Highways projects – New build
• Comprehensive experience of the NEC

Desirable experience

• Proven background working for contractors
• Experience of the NEC – Option C target cost
• Experience of projects valued in excess of £8million
• Experience of dealing with muti experienced Sub contractors
