Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:30

Weekend availability (flexible to work weekends)

Description of the customer

We are hiring an experienced, enthusiastic and energetic Trade Counter Sales with a can-do attitude for our client based in Northampton and Wellingborough. This is a challenging and rewarding position with the potential to proceed further.

Please note that there are 2 positions, 1 based in Northampton and 1 based in Wellingborough.

The role:

• Handle customer enquiries and complaints.
• Greet customers as they enter store.
• Explain product features to customers and demonstrate products.
• Determine customer needs, suggest items and demonstrate features of products to determine if the item will meet the customer’s needs.
• Accurately record sales receipts.
• Help customers select the correct item from the store’s inventory.
• Sell merchandise following appropriate product displays.

Skills / qualifications

• Good time management skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Customer service orientated to provide our customers with a knowledgeable, friendly and dependable service
• Being able to work in fast moving environment in order to achieve sales and operational targets including Health and Safety
• The candidate must have previous experience within the merchant industry but ideally will be from the Plumbing and Heating sector.
