Engineering Labourer

We are looking for a full-time Engineering Labourer to assist our current team with a variety of roles to ensure that our family-run boilerworks is functioning effectively. It is preferred that the candidate has experience working in an engineering environment or similar, though training will be provided. The ideal candidate should be able to operate well under pressure, meet strict deadlines and preferably have a valid forklift driving license.

Responsibilities and Duties

The role will involve ensuring that everything is clean, tidy and functioning effectively at our Farling Top site in West Yorkshire. The candidate should have excellent attention to detail, be a team player and be able to prioritise and manage the workload effectively under pressure. Candidates must ensure that strict deadlines are met and should preferably have both a full clean driving license and forklift license.

Working duties will include:

• General labouring duties, including collecting and delivering materials into stores, unloading and sorting goods and ensuring that the yards are clean and tidy.
• Upkeep of motor vehicles.
• Basic engineering duties.
• Safely managing waste and material movement both internally and externally across the site.
• Working alongside our engineering and management teams in stocktaking and basic engineering duties as and when required.
• Forklift driving.

As the business is based between Skipton and Keighley, it is essential that the candidate is within commuting distance of our boilerworks.

This is a full-time role working 45 hours per week with the option for overtime. Candidates will be employed on a three-month initial contract leading to a permanent role and will receive ongoing training with the opportunity to upskill further.

Qualifications

Experience: Previous employment at an engineering site or similar is desirable, but not essential.

Licenses: Full Clean UK driving license with additional forklift license preferred.
