THE ROLE

This is a brand new role for an experienced and driven finance professional with a passion for all things finance, including monthly reporting, business partnering with department heads across the company and systems implementation.

Reporting to (and supported by) our Finance Director you will be an integral part in the team, working collaboratively and cross-functionally at all levels and with all departments.

This role will provide the opportunity for someone with a proactive attitude to get hands on into all aspects of Financial Control, supporting the Finance Director and ensuring the smooth day to day running of the Finance function, identifying areas within our process and systems where we can improve efficiency and accuracy and leading and developing a small and agile team as the business continues to scale.

YOU WILL

+ Take charge of overall financial control of all aspects of the business; reviewing, developing and implementing a strong internal controls environment and taking ownership of the general ledger, technical accounting matters and the month end close process and control account reconciliations 

+ Take full control of reporting including the preparation of monthly management accounts, overseeing weekly aged debt/cash reporting, analysing financial statements, comparing to budget and forecasts with variance reports, consolidation and preparation of statutory financial statements, working closely with External Auditors and assisting the FD with preparing monthly board reporting and preparation of weekly trade reporting

+ Support the FD in hiring, training and developing a best-in-class Finance function, coaching and mentoring junior team members as needed 

+ Partner with the Production Dept to ensure that stock reporting is accurate and accounted for, assist with forecasting for stock purchases and own month end stock provisioning 

+ Ensure that the weekly cash flow is closely monitored, the AP and AR functions are running smoothly, and debts are kept current, reviewing and approving of weekly payment runs and supporting new retailer and supplier onboarding via credit checks 

+ Oversee the timely filing of UK and EU VAT returns, plus other statutory submissions, work with the tax consultants to ensure that the corporation tax returns and R&D claims are accurate and submitted on a timely basis, Submit any required ONS reporting and support the FD in the preparation and submission of Companies House documentation. 

YOUR SKILLS + EXPERIENCE

+ ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a minimum 3+ years PQE 
+ Track record of managing and developing a team 
+ Experience operating in an SME (£20 - £100 million revenue) 
+ Experience operating in a fast-paced high volume Ecom consumer business 
+ Strong excel skills
+ Strong communication skills

(Nice to haves):

+ Experience with Xero
+ Systems implementation experience
+ Experience with multi-country compliance
