Job description


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an advanced clinical practitioner to join the MDU/GI team. You will provide a dynamic link between clinical practice and service development to deliver patient care ensuring the best experience and health outcomes for patients.

With the increasing number of patients on SACT and longevity of treatment, the main responsibility of the role will be to organise and deliver multi-professional clinics for patients with GI cancer at Sutton. This role for 12 months will offer a wide experience of delivering SACT clinics, managing side effects of treatment and supporting the Medical day unit delivering a high degree patient satisfaction. The autonomous post holder will be fully supported in the role and practice within the multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic advanced clinical practitioner with excellent communication skills to undertake the role and to continue the development of services at the Royal Marsden.

This is a superb opportunity for the right person to refine practice skills as well as take ownership and responsibility of the Multi professional clinic SACT pathway.
• Clinical leadership to the teams, maintaining credibility through practice and provide a high quality and safe patient service, which exceeds patient expectations.
• Developing an oral therapies clinic across all sites to address the increased demand and complexity of the oral therapy pathway . This will include supporting a team of staff to implement the clinics on all sites and cross cover to ensure seamless care
• Routine management of the particularly oral agents day care patients assessing them for systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT) and supportive
• Using advanced clinical decision making and assessment skills, prompt treatment plans or referrals will be initiated to effectively manage acute and chronic cancer-related complications and/or toxicities from systemic anti-cancer treatments and/or
