Setting: Wings School Notts

Full or part time hours will be considered

At Kedleston Group, our vision is simple, every provision we operate will be recognised as ‘outstanding’ in every way.

We will never be the biggest, but we will lead, and others will follow.

About the role:

As a Speech and Language Therapist at Wings School Notts, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will be working with both our residential and day school pupils, supporting the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with communication needs. You will manage your own caseload and be expected to work flexibly, providing therapy services to pupils according to clinical need and in close liaison with the school’s highly specialist clinical team. You will be expected to actively participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, staff meetings, supervision, training and annual appraisals.

You will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with other Speech and Language Therapists to support the development of the Speech and Language Therapy services across the Kedleston Group and have clinical supervision, either from Senior Speech and Language Therapists within the group or funded externally.

About you:

For this role, we are looking for someone who has a degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent, UK HCPC Registration, and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. You will have successful post registration practice and experience with young people and ideally have experience of working with children with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and young people with developmental trauma within a Trauma-Informed Model.

You will be able to show that you can effectively manage a clinical caseload of young people with neurodiversity, social and emotional needs along with the ability to carry out a range of effective speech and language therapy assessments and interventions relevant to young people with SEMH needs and neurodevelopmental disorders. You will have knowledge of and commitment to person centred practice in all stages of the speech and language therapy process and be skilled in carrying out both individual and group interventions, evaluate outcomes of intervention and adapt practice accordingly and work closely with teaching staff and carers in the identification of integrated therapy and therapy related individual objectives, and will have a working knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding Legislation and other legislation. If you share our commitment to developing confident and capable young people and making a difference to their lives by meeting their educational, health and social care needs in structured, nurturing school and home provisions, we would love to hear from you.
