Does driving to work on quiet roads through beautiful scenery, parking without stress at the hospital appeal? How would it feel to be part of a community which genuinely appreciates your service and skills and work with clinical colleagues who value your opinion, with the bonus of working in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK, a centre for holidays and outdoor pursuits of all kinds, and only 2 hours from Glasgow International Airport?
If this sounds refreshing then why not consider joining us as a Locum Consultant Radiologist here at the Lorn and Islands Rural General Hospital in Oban on the west coast of Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity to personally make a difference to local health care.
The post holder will be competent in the spectrum of general radiology. Sub-specialty interests can be accommodated; expertise in basic biopsy and drainage procedures would be advantageous but not essential. Lorn & Islands Hospital in Oban is the main hospital within the Argyll & Bute area with 44 beds and sits within the wider Health Board area of NHS Highland, with good links to the main hospital, Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Due to historical and geographical factors, there are clinical links with many specialist units in Glasgow, to which most tertiary referrals are made.
This post is offered on the basis of 10 Programmed Activities per week (8 DCC and 2 SPA) There is no out-of-hours commitment. Those wishing to work less than part time are welcome to apply; working practice can be flexible - we are open to exploring different ways of working.
We would encourage applicants to contact the service to arrange a visit prior to short-listing/interview, if selected. The costs of a preliminary visit will be met by NHS Highland.
