OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Opportunity
Ongoing growth at this well-established reputable Building Services Consultancy has created a new opportunity for an experienced M&E CAD Technician. As a leader in their field of expertise they provide a fully integrated design, project management and consultancy service, encompassing all areas of building services engineering for many of the UK ’s leading companies and organisations.
The Position
They are looking for a CAD technician with the option of a combined role as utility services coordinator. As the M&E CAD Technician you will work as part of a team alongside electrical and mechanical engineers, to setup drawing layouts from mark-ups and assist with utility supply applications. Responsibilities;
- Work as part of a design team to complete drawing layouts, generally from hand mark-ups. Setting up x-refs from Architects plans. Replicating designs across similar areas of a building e.g. hotel floors and previous similar schemes.
- Manage the flow of CAD work and distribute to external assistance as and when required by timescales.
- Completing applications on utility connections and disconnections with information provided from engineers.
- Following up with utilities and managing timescales in line with project requirements, whilst liaising with engineers.
- Completing site utility plans with information provided from engineers.
The Person
The successful candidate will possess the following experience;
- 2D CAD utilising AutoCAD and experience of 3D CAD.
- Preferably from a Building Services background
- Someone who can work as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage time and prioritise effectively.
- Good verbal and written skills, with an attention to detail.
- Experience of building services.
- Experience in website and social media updates would be useful.
