Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Location

Sutton In Ashfield, Nottinghamshire | United Kingdom

Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) or Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our successful Emergency Department team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Recently awarded ‘Outstanding’ overall and ‘Good’ for Urgent and Emergency Care by the Care Quality Commission, we are seeking exceptional individuals who can join us on our continued journey of delivering excellence in care.

The Emergency Department at Kings Mill Hospital currently sees over 100,000 attendances a year and operates a single point of access for all admissions. It is a designated Trauma Unit, hosts a separate Children and Young Persons Emergency Department, and is co-located with Primary Care Services offering a single front door model of care.

This post provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered professional who is dedicated to delivering high quality Emergency Care. We are looking for a suitably qualified ACP to join our friendly and supportive award winning Emergency Department team. We will also consider applications from trainee ACPs already on an MSc advanced practice pathway, or those who are willing to fully commit to undertaking a programme of training.

The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner who has demonstrable skills aligned with the four pillars of advanced practice; clinical care, supporting education, leadership and management, and research. The role will involve assessment, treatment and management of a diverse undifferentiated caseload of patients requiring unscheduled care.

In line with the Trust CARE values, and driven by a passion for excellent patient care, we expect to recruit positive, dynamic and forward thinking individuals, who are flexible and adaptable in order to meet the challenges of care delivery in the emergency environment. You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team. You will need to be highly motivated and be prepared to continue to develop your expertise.

As a valued employee you will be offered wrap around support by the Head of Service, a Consultant supervisor, the Corporate Lead for Advanced Clinical Practice and the established ACP team. Opportunity for professional development is encouraged to allow individuals to excel in all pillars of advanced practice and is facilitated through protected non-clinical time.

If you have the drive to provide an excellent patient experience and an enthusiasm for personal and service development within the clinical setting, and a desire to work in a proactive and dynamic Emergency Department we are waiting to hear from you.

Thank you for your interest in this role.

Sherwood is nationally recognised as being an excellent place to work and deliver care. We are rightly proud of the 5,500 colleagues who work here and we are the Health Service Journal’s Trust of the Year in 2020.

The Care Quality Commission rated King’s Mill Hospital Outstanding and Newark, and Mansfield Community Hospitals Good. Overall we are rated Outstanding for care.

For the last three years, we have been ranked as the best NHS Trust to work for in the Midlands and in 2020 we were the third best Acute/Community NHS Trust in England.

Happy colleagues deliver better care. Our teams work in a supportive, inclusive environment, which nurtures wellbeing and has opportunities for development and progression. We do not just care for our patients, we also care for you.

We would love you to join us
