Job description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Cook to join our Catering Team in our Skylarks care home located in West Bridgford in Nottingham. This role would be working in the adult social care sector.

Purpose of the role:

To support the Head Cook in the provision of a high standard of catering within the Nursing Home, delivering a quality service in line with health, safety and hygiene requirements.

The responsibilities of the role include:

Manage the kitchen and meals in the absence of the Head Cook on days off and annual leave.
Manage kitchen stock, equipment and resources within budget.
To ensure all food is prepared and served with the highest regard to nutritional value and hygienic conditions.
To maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area to the highest standard.
To ensure that any waste is kept to a minimum.
To adhere to the food standards agency guidance for catering in health and social care.

About the role:

Hours of work - Part time or full time hours available, can be discussed at interview.
Shift pattern - 3-4 shifts per week including every other weekend.
