We have an opening for a high-calibre Lead Software Engineer .
The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded technology leader with extensive experience of collaborative working with business stakeholders to implement high quality software changes. They will also have experience mentoring and developing junior engineers to develop and improve their skill set.
The successful candidate will help shape the architecture of our products and platforms, with their ability to adapt to a range of different engineering approaches, to achieve greater performance, scalability, resilience, and reuse, as well as reduce time to market for new solutions, thereby supporting the entrepreneurialism of our business.

What you’ll achieve
As a Lead Software Engineer you will be accountable for:
- Building a successful team which consistently delivers high quality solutions within defined architectures and timescales.
- Individually contributing to the delivery of the team.
- Helping to shape the architecture of our bespoke software products and platforms to achieve non-functional and strategic goals.
We are looking for a well-rounded Software Engineer and manager with a strong trach-record of building and leading technology squads. You will have a broad and deep technology background with experience across a range of technology stacks.
You will also be able to work well within less mature technology organisations while also driving demonstrable improvements to process and practice.
Who we’re looking for -
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive hands-on experience with the Microsoft Stack (C#, SQL Server, Azure including functions, pipelines, web apps, App Insights, DevOps)
- Demonstrable experience with a range of modern architectures (microservices, event driven, CQRS, APIs & webhooks).
- Experience working within a range of delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, V-model, Project-based).
- Ability to support a range of delivery roles (project managers, delivery leads, scrum masters) in estimating, planning, and delivering complex software products and projects.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor both junior and more experienced team members.
- Experience of line managing software engineers within a delivery squad.
- Ability to guide complex projects to successful delivery through effective decision-making.
- Must have the resilience and adaptability to work well in maturing technology organisations, and to play a constructive role in driving maturity.
