School Caretaker | Merton
Competitive day rate (PAYE) Fixed-term opportunity – end of the academic year Immediate start An exciting position has arisen at a fantastic school in Merton for a suitability skilled, reliable and self-motivated Caretaker to join the friendly site team on a fixed-term basis – immediate start! The desired candidate will be responsible for assisting in the cleaning, maintenance and caretaking activities of the school, as directed by the Facilities Manager. They will need to have experience in building maintenance, cleaning and skills in a number of caretaking disciplines. School Caretaker Responsibilities: To act as a key holder, carrying out security procedures for buildings and grounds. Providing access to the premises and classrooms in the event of snow or similar emergency situations. Liaising with Facilities Manager to ensure the grounds are maintained to a high standard. Ensuring the site is maintained as a safe environment as required by statutory and local guidelines. Reporting and resolving any issues that arise in a timely and professional manner. A willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check as part of our commitment to safeguarding. School Caretaker Requirements: Basic knowledge of Frist Aid. Ability to undertake routine DIY tasks. Previous experience of working in an education setting is desirable. Experience of cleaning and first line maintenance. Ability to communicate effectively.
