Head of Design (Construction sector)

Location: Antrim, Northern Ireland (Travel Required)

Salary: Open to Negotiation depending on experience

Blackfox Solutions are delighted to be recruiting for an established company, seeking a talented individual for the role of Head of Design. In this position, you will lead the design team to ensure exceptional outcomes from estimation to site installation, while adhering to budget, programme, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design team to deliver robust capabilities across projects.
• Ensure designs meet best practices, add value, enhance buildability, and maximise commercial success.
• Drive digital construction, continual improvement, and innovation.
• Manage design aspects across multiple projects, maintaining detailed knowledge of processes.
• Provide effective leadership and people management.
• Foster relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal teams.
• Experience with fit-out projects, BIM processes, joinery, design software, and building regulations is desirable.
• Travel may be required for client meetings and site visits.

Requirements:

• Third-level qualification in a related discipline.
• Impressive portfolio demonstrating extensive experience in managing construction projects.
• Detailed knowledge of design processes.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems, and deliver results.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
