Job description
Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the role is responsible for leading all the financial and IT activities of the Group in order to achieve and maintain strong strategic financial direction, with the aim of delivering exceptional levels of business performance.
To maintain and develop robust financial systems, controls, policies and procedures and report on the Company’s performance to business plan & strategy, whilst being a key and influential member of the management team.
Key objectives
- To provide input in developing and driving Group strategy
- To guide the business in achieving financial and business performance targets
- To provide clear, accurate and concise management information with both financial & business analysis
- To maintain and develop IT architecture, systems, and information storage
- To ensure Group compliance with all financial and corporate legislation
Job specification
- To support the management team in understanding key financial information & KPI’s to assist decision making and formulating appropriate actions
- To develop and maintain budgeting, financial planning & control, accounting and reporting policies and practices in compliance with relevant professional standards
- Compilation of management accounts, KPI’s and board pack with analysis & briefing for board and management team
- To lead and manage the financial function to meet the needs of the business, management team, & board
- Compilation of annual budget pack & KPI’s for approval by board
- Define, develop and implement the administrative, financial, IT and cyber security guidelines for the business
- Manage the CAPEX proposal process in co-ordination with the management team
- Liaison with all stakeholders, and management of relationships with local government, auditors, tax & legal advisors, banks and insurance agents so the business remains compliant with tax and corporate governance legislation to comply with all statutory requirements
- To carry out any other reasonable duties as and when requested
Candidate profile
- Minimum 10 years of Director of Finance/Accounting Manager experience
- Strong business acumen with excellent communication skills both written and verbal (to include work associated with preparing the business for sale process)
- Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the Senior Management team
- Ability to develop and manage a high-performance team focused on accountability and meeting and exceeding expectations.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects and provide follow-up with strong attention to detail.
- Good experience with IT systems implementation/development.
- Excellent decision-making skills, including information gathering and problem solving
- Demonstrated focus on results and business/process improvements to include a customer focused mentality.
