PASTORAL SUPPORT OFFICER

37 hours per week / term time only (including 5 Training Days)

Required for April 2024

Level 3A Point Range 5 - 8 (depending on experience) £23,500.00 – 24,702.00 pro rata  (Actual salary range will be £20,461.00 – 21,508.00)

Hours of work: 8.00am – 4.00pm (30 minute lunch break) Monday – Thursday and 8.00am – 3.30pm (30 minute lunch break) Friday

We wish to appoint a hardworking and motivated Pastoral Support Officer to join our pastoral team. You will give administrative support to the Year Team, Safeguarding Lead and pastoral support to students ensuring we establish consistently high standards with regard to behaviour, uniform and attendance. The ability to work as part of a team and confidence to work with students, parents and external agencies is essential.

Working in a school requires you to have strong organisational and communication skills. There will be face-to-face interaction with students, members of staff, parents and external agencies.

Redborne is a successful school on a spacious and pleasant campus near the market town of Ampthill in Bedfordshire. We achieve excellent examination results with about three-quarters of students typically gaining Maths and English at grades 9 – 4. ‘A’ Level results are also very good with over half at ‘A*’, ‘A’ or ‘B’ grades and an overall pass rate of 99.9%. About 80% of the Sixth Form go on to university and each year a number of students get into Oxbridge. The school is well regarded, oversubscribed and situated in a very pleasant area of Central Bedfordshire, within easy reach of London. The campus includes a state-of-the-art 400 seat theatre and Sixth Form social area. In the next few years the school is likely to expand to 1,700 with 500+ in the sixth form.
