Balance Sheet Management Accountant

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for producing balance sheet budgets and reforecasts
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are produced and reviewed in line with the Group requirements
- Challenge and review reconciliations to ensure that the balance sheet position is appropriate
- Update risks and opportunities schedule
- Produce month-end balance sheet reporting for Finance senior team
- Responsible for reconciling control accounts (Payroll, VAT)
- Responsible for reconciling intercompany balances on a monthly basis, distributing balance details across group companies and resolving any queries
- Update intercompany loan schedules and calculate interest charges
- Ensure all reporting deadlines are met
- Submit accurate and timely submissions to Group for JD Ireland
- Produce monthly, half-year and year-end Group reporting packs for JD Ireland
- Assist in providing reconciliations to external auditors and responding to queries
- Ad hoc project work as required
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
- Qualified/Finalist CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA accountant
- Experience of management accounting essential
- Experience with working alongside and influencing senior stakeholders; both financial and non-financial
- Strong analytical skills required in order to identify and remediate risks
- Ability to investigate, understand and explain variances and overall business performance
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal required
- Ability to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work under your own initiative
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Retail industry experience desirable
- Experience of Oracle Financials and TM1 useful (though training will be provided)
- A positive, flexible, enthusiastic and driven attitude.
