Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Liskeard, Cornwall

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Liskeard, Cornwall for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 days, along with OOH shifts on a rota. Part time applications will be considered.

- Consultations: 15 minutes
- Team: Large veterinary team
The role
- The practice has 5 sites in total so the role involves working across the patch however continuity of case and case work ups are important so travelling and working across the sites is kept to as minimal as possible
- The role can be adapted to the vets strengths and areas if special interest
- Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance.
- The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
- The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.
About them:
- Large established mixed animal practice
- Five sites including one 24hr hospital where overnight in patient care takes place
- All sites are RCVS Practice Standards Accredited with awards gained in Client Service, In Patient Service & Diagnostic Services
- They have a large and friendly team and pride themselves on providing a high quality of care to all of their clients.
- They have a large team over 100 which include the Farm team. They regularly have social outings together
- All five sites are equipped to handle consultations and surgeries. They are fully equipped offering a wide variety of veterinary services and facilities including ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopic equipment, dental x-ray, dental radiography and an in house laboratory
- They understand the importance of employee wellbeing and have well being ambassadors in place and mental health First Aiders
- The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

- They have a supportive team with well being support in place with mental health First Aiders and well being Ambassadors
- The team work together to support one another and enable each other to achieve goals and continue to develop their clinical skills and knowledge
- They have regular social outings so that they can enjoy themselves as a team outside of work.

- They understand the difficulties that the vet industry can face, and they ensure that each member of staff support each other and strive each day to provide a positive and encouraging work environment
About you
- Due to the large team in place they are able to support various levels of experience from a more experienced Vet to a New Graduate Vet. What is most important to them is the right person that fits in with the team and the culture. They can support someone who is wishing to mentor and coach or someone who requires mentoring and coaching
- They would require the Vet to join their OOH rota which involves looking after in patients however this is kept to a minimum due to the large team numbers so it doesn't not impact the important work life balance
- They will have a positive "can do " attitude
- The Vet will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships.
- The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills
- The Vet will always maintain a high standard of clinical care and always willing to go that extra mile for patients
Package
- Salary: Up to £67,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
- Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
- CPD: Generous allowance of £1,250 with 5 days to attend
