The Opportunity
We're excited to announce a new opening for a Technical Innovation Manager. In this pivotal role, you'll drive innovation within the cement sector of our business, leveraging technology to elevate product quality, efficiency, and sustainability. Your expertise will help us stay ahead in a competitive industry, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our projects and clients while adhering to our sustainability commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
To manage / assist in new product and project work. Managing the resources that allow R&D to develop and introduce new materials, products and processes to the business.
To engage with Academic institutions, market disruptors, identify new technologies for the production, utilisation, decarbonisation and identify Insights and trends to ensure Aggregate Industries and their customers maintain a competitive advantage. (Carbon Curing, Construction Methods, off site construction, Construction demolition waste, Circular economy, Carbon Capture use and Storage, etc)
Co-ordinate and represent Aggregate Industries on Industry committees and associations (UKQAA, MPA, CSMA, Britpave, etc)
Develop and present CPD presentations to key accounts, contractors, engineers, NGOs and specifiers.
Maintain and Develop EPD’s for cement and cementitious products with the plant team and the National Technical Manager.
Maintain and improve the business relationships and market knowledge, within agreed business segments and maintain a high degree of market and competitor awareness.
Create unique promotional opportunities to raise the profile of Lafarge Cement as a UK low carbon leader
To provide technical support to Customers, Commercial and Marketing departments offering support for promoting innovative cement solutions to improve our product portfolio and add value to customers.
To be at the forefront of Construction Demolition Materials (CDM) and Mineral Components (MIC) developments and identify new sources, trends across the group and globally.
Manage product, process and material evaluation through laboratory and plant trials ensuring detailed records are kept.
To assist in complaint resolution to keep costs to a minimum and implement an action plan to prevent future occurrences, where possible. Maintain and improve product quality in all areas such as, product, packaging and delivery.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with proven experience in driving innovation, ideally within the cement or construction sectors.
You’ll have a solid technical background with an understanding of current and emerging technologies in cement manufacturing and sustainability practices, coupled with exceptional project management and leadership skills to steer cross-functional teams towards innovation goals.
Possession of the skills to assess the viability and potential impact of new innovations and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization and external partners.
