Position: Care and Support Worker

Location: Walkley and Hillsborough

Responsibilities:
As a Care and Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering adults with learning disabilities to lead independent, active, and fulfilled lives. Your responsibilities include:

1. Personalized Support:

Assisting clients in their own homes and supporting them to engage with the community.
Providing assistance with daily activities, including cooking, cleaning, medication management, and organizing social activities.
2. Building Confidence and Security:

Building a sense of security and confidence in clients, fostering an environment that encourages personal development and the pursuit of individual interests.
Implementing a 4-weekly rota, ensuring coverage during specified hours to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
3. Flexibility and Adherence to Protocols:

Flexibility to take on additional shifts as needed for holiday coverage and unexpected absences.
Following care plans meticulously and practicing correct safeguarding procedures at all times.
Qualifications:

Previous experience working with adults or young people with dual diagnosis, learning disabilities, hearing and visual impairment, and autism, particularly those displaying challenging behaviours, is preferred.
Full training will be provided for successful candidates.
What You'll Be Doing on Shift:

1. Creating a Positive Living Environment:

Motivating and supporting clients in managing domestic tasks, maintaining a safe, clean, and positive living environment.
Adhering to care plans and upholding safeguarding practices to ensure the well-being of clients.
2. Engaging and Educational Activities:

Planning and engaging in fun and educational activities tailored to individual interests and hobbies.
Facilitating easy access to the local community, ensuring clients are prepared for planned activities.
Working Hours:

Generally, 23 hours per week on a 4-weekly rota basis.

Week 1 and 3: Monday 10 am - 6 pm, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday 10 am - 3 pm.
Week 2 and 4: Monday 10 am - 3 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3 pm - 9 pm.
