Tramways Care Home are recruiting for experienced care assistant to join us in delivering care to our residents living at Tramways.

A positive attitude, passion and willingness to develop skills within Care assistant role. You will provide residents with the highest standard of basic care in accordance with the homes philosophy of care and the individuals care plans.
While acting in accordance with the policies and procedures of the home.
As a care assistant you will be delivering quality personal care to each of the residents.
Your daily duties will include
To build strong and meaningful relationships with the residents and assist them with their Activities of Daily Living to help them maintain and improve, where possible, their independence, individuality and mobility
Assistance includes, but is not limited to: Bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, participating in meaningful and purposeful daily activities, empowering resident choice, desire and preference where possible
To provide the residents with meals served from the kitchen, adhering strenuously to Food Hygiene regulation.
To provide beverages for the residents and their visitors
To answer the telephone and either forward calls or take messages in a capable and professional manner
To attend training and educational sessions as required
This will ensure your skill set is up to date and that your confidence remains high while delivering care to the residents
• Capacity to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Positive attitude, passion and willingness to develop skills within Care Assistant role
• NVQ in Social Care, preferred but not essential
• Flexibility to work shift patterns
• Good interpersonal skills
• Reliable, Accountable and Punctual
• To put the resident needs first and to assist them with the greatest respect and compassion possible
• To immediately report any unusual findings to your supervisor
• To assist and follow instruction from the duty manager
• Maintain thorough documentation
• Previous experience in working with Learning Disability is preferred but not essential

Care/ Support worker
Purpose of position This care service involves a programme of personal care and household care management that is personalised for each service user in the form of a care plan. Care duties will therefore include assisting the service user with a variety of duties, and in doing so the carer will observe and respect the service user’s dignity, privacy and independence as far as is practical.
Principal responsibilities – Care/ Support Worker
To provide personal and practical care services for people with a wide range of illnesses and disabilities.
To assist service users with getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and the toilet where necessary.
To help service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help in use- and care of aids and personal equipment.
To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of service users through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
To make and change beds; tidy rooms; do light cleaning and empty commodes.
To launder service users’ clothing.
To set tables and trays, serve meals, feed service users who need help, prepare light meals and wash up, and tidy and clear away.
To read and write in log-book records and take part in staff and service users' meetings and in training activities as directed.
To conform to all policies, procedures and guidelines laid down by Tramways Corner LTD in respect of carrying out these care duties and in other administrative aspects of the business, as relevant.
To carry out accurately, and in a competent manner, instructions from manager and, adhering to the care plans of individual service users.
To actively talk- and listen to service users, allowing for their personal choice in their own home.
To report and record any accident or incident which may occur – no matter how minor, whether to the service user or carer.
To report back to the manager any aspect of the service user’s care which, in the view of the care/support worker, warrants investigation or urgent action.
To report immediately to management any noticeable changes in health, behaviour or circumstances of service users – maintaining the service user’s right to privacy and confidentiality.
To participate in reviews of service users’ care plans as required. (for key workers only)
To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.
To participate in induction and foundation training and regular in-service training programmes as directed by manager
you will be responsible for a shift and at times be a lone worker.
