About the role

We have a fantastic new locum opportunity available at Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Are you local to this area or find this location desirable?

Contract date: 1st March 2024 – 31st May 2024

Shift: Full-time

Days of Shift: Monday – Friday

Time for Shift: As Per Rota – Approx. 37.5 hours per week

Duties:

• Responsibility for in-patient of the Nightingale Macmillan Unit (NMU), Specialist Palliative Care Unit (20-22 beds), alongside two other Palliative Medicine Consultants.
• Actively engage with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and associated meetings.
• Supervise and support NMU junior doctors and medical students.
• Support the effective admission and discharge of in-patients.
• Provide weekly Palliative Medicine Clinic.
• Active participation in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit.

Experience:

• Certificate of Completion of Specialty Training in Palliative Medicine.
• Provision of Specialist Palliative Care with responsibility for the diagnosis and treatment of illness and, with consultant colleagues, the proper functioning of the department.
