Job description
Grade: - Lecturer Scale - £35,552 - £63,513 per annum
A Lecturer is required to teach in the Hospitality and Catering area of the College of Further Education.
The lecturer will plan and provide high quality teaching and learning on a range of courses, provide tutorial and pastoral support for at least one group of learners.
The area currently delivers a range of NVQ courses to match employers’ and student’s needs with qualification pathways at Level 2 and 3, along with professional qualifications for industry. The students follow courses of study which allow progression opportunities within the Hospitality and Catering industry both local and worldwide and onto either, other vocational courses, employment, or Higher Education.
The Hospitality and Catering area needs a dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic lecturer with relevant professional and teaching knowledge with experience in at least two or more of the following disciplines:
• Professional Cookery (preparation and cooking)
• Food and Beverage service
• Barista
• WSET trained or equivalent
• Food hygiene
The successful applicant will be expected to inspire students and be part of a very motivated, supportive and forward thinking team which will look to enhance the curriculum breadth, and develop strong links with local industry and align the provision to reflect the demands of this dynamic sector.
