Job description

As the Head of Risk and Compliance, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust risk management and compliance framework within our organisation. Your role will involve overseeing risk assessments, implementing compliance programs, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency landscape.

 

Responsibilities – I want to and can do that!

  1. Risk Management:
    • Maintain and continuously improve a comprehensive risk management strategy for the organisation.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  2. Compliance Oversight:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC)/Know Your Business (KYB) requirements.
    • Stay abreast of changes in regulatory environments and update policies accordingly.
  3. Policy Development:
    • Develop and update risk management and compliance policies and procedures.
    • Ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines.
  4. Internal and External Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with internal teams to embed risk management and compliance into daily operations.
    • Communicate with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders, representing the company on compliance matters.
  5. Training and Awareness:
    • Provide training and awareness programs to employees on risk management and compliance.
    • Foster a culture of compliance awareness throughout the organisation.
  6. Incident Response:
    • Maintain and manage incident response plans for potential risk or compliance breaches.
    • Lead investigations into incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  7. Reporting:
    • Prepare and deliver regular reports on risk and compliance status to senior management and relevant regulatory bodies.
  8. Corporate Compliance:
    • Ensure that all corporate processes and procedures comply with applicable laws and internal standards.
    • Regularly assess and update company policies to align with legal regulations and ethical standards.
  9. Operational Compliance Management:
    • Use our compliance management platform to monitor all operational processes, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and ethical standards.
    • Manage information flow by researching, recording, and analysing data to conduct compliance risk assessments.
  10. Advisory Role:
    • Advise the CEO and other Exec members on a variety of compliance issues.
    • Contribute to the development of effective systems and controls within the organisation.

Requirements – I've already done that or have that!

  1. Proven experience in risk management and compliance within the cryptocurrency or financial services industry.
  2. In-depth knowledge of cryptocurrency regulations, AML, and KYC/KYB requirements.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
