Job description

My client is a highly regarded Manufacturer looking to hire an experienced and detail-oriented Production Planner to join their team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for efficiently planning and coordinating of all production activities while ensuring optimal utilization of resources, on-time delivery. This is a very important role to the business.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain production schedules and prioritize workload based on customer requirements, production capacity, and material availability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and quality assurance to ensure smooth operations and meet performance goals.
Monitor daily production activities, analyse production data, and identify areas for improvement in order to drive efficiency and productivity.
Coordinate with material planners to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and finished goods, taking into consideration lead times, safety stock, and production demand.
Review and adjust production schedules as necessary to accommodate unforeseen events such as equipment breakdowns, material shortages, or changing customer demand.
Prepare and analyse various reports related to production performance, including production costs, inventory levels, and labour utilization.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process bottlenecks, recommending, and implementing solutions, and driving operational excellence.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Production Planner in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably within an Engineering / Manufacturing Company.
Understanding of planning a CNC machine shop environment
Thorough understanding of production planning principles, lean manufacturing, and capacity planning.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Proficient in using production planning software, excel (advanced) and ERP systems.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in meeting tight deadlines and managing changing priorities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Keen attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to unexpected changes in production requirements.
