Job description
Our client is a market-leading, family-run company in a niche sector who have been established for over 50 years. They have a new role for a store assistant who will be joining an existing warehouse team. This a perfect role for a hardworking, dynamic and motivated individual due to the fast-paced nature of the role.
Duties for the Stores Assistant will include:
- Ensure that all goods are unpacked, receipted, and stored safely and securely
- Ensure that all products are picked, packed and sent for dispatch effectively to ensure they are received on time by the customers
- Use of FLT truck
- Keep all storage areas clean and tidy
- Ensure customer enquiries to the department are dealt with effectively
- Maintain the flexibility of the department/company as required by the Stores Supervisor
It would be good to see candidates for the Stores Assistant role with the following: - Experience working in a similar role
- The store assistant will ideally hold an FLT counterbalance/reach licence
- A driving licence will be essential
- Knowledge of the industry would be advantageous
- Be an excellent team player
- Self-motivated
- Strong prioritising skills and ability to manage own workload
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Salary: From £12.00 per hour
Benefits: 30 holidays including BH, rising to 33 after 1 year of service and beginning of next calendar year.
Auto-enrolment pension. Initial 5% employee contribution, after 3 years’ service the company will fund employee contribution.
After a qualifying period, you will be entitled to private health care (taxable), critical illness cover and death in service cover.
Annual business performance-related bonus (non-contractual)

Flexibility to work contracted hours over 4 days – subject to manager’s discretion.
