Mechanical Design Engineer sought to join Automation Specialist who excel in the field of special purpose equipment & bespoke automation solutions

Mechanical Design Engineer

£35,000 - £40,000+ paid overtime, pension & paid allowances.

North East Basedwith some UK travel.

Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role:

Creating 3D models within the required software – ideally Solidworks

Involvement in the design procedures including; design reviews, customer approval, drawing check off & handover to manufacturing

Working closely with the sales team to generate & complete designs from basic concept sketches

Create detail & GA drawings which will be used within the manufacture environment

Supporting needs of shop floor staff during manufacture, assembly & commissioning of machines

Creating & overseeing FAT/SAT tests on machines

Preparing risk assessments, manuals, documentation in line with UKCA (CE) requirements

Creating lists of equipment to enable purchasing to be carried out

Working to project timing plans while liaising with Project Managers to manage projects within time & budget constraints

Be the first point of contact with new & existing customers as well as internal departments & suppliers

Mechanical Design Engineer – The Person:

Experience within a similar role

An Engineer with excellent communication skills

Must also be organised to ensure projects are delivered on time & within agreed budgets

This role is for a Mechanical Design Engineer but you would also be heavily involved in project work within a fast paced design office so experience within a similar environment would be highly advantageous

Based in the North East, commutable from Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Chester-Le-Street, Durham, Spennymoor & surrounding areas.

Role would also suit a Junior Design Engineer looking to get into a full time role.
