Overview and Purpose of Role

As a result of our continued success, we are now recruiting for an Aftersales Technical Support Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager you will be part of the team responsible provide engineering support to the aftersales team. You will be integral in part of the Product support, preparing resources and technical instructions in consultation with other departments where required. Your technical support is vital to the ongoing operational efficiency of the growing International aftersales fleet, where downtime on customer equipment must be minimised. A passion for engineering and a desire to be ‘ hands-on ’ is essential.

Job Description Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Aftersales and Design teams to provide information to support the resolution of technical field issues.

• Produce and control a diverse range of product technical documents including operator manuals, spare part listings, technical bulletins, and registration documentation.

• Develop hard-copy and web-based documentation.

• Generate technical documents for new and current production machines.

• Produce technical bulletins for modifications on existing products.

• Assurance that technical manuals are up to date.

• Generate and Modify CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks 3D CAD.

About you

• Logical thinker with good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Possess effective communication skills, oral and written, enabling them to interact with a wide variety of team members of various levels of the company hierarchy.

• Competent with reading and understanding electrical and hydraulic schematics.

• Understanding of how hydraulic systems and electrical circuits work.

• You will have experience of working within a Technical Publications or Technical Author or a similar publications design, technical documentation focused position.

• Experience of using Adobe Suite or similar professional content creation tools.

• Experience of using 3D CAD experience (ideally SolidWorks).

• Willingness to learn and understand how the products function, are designed, and manufactured to enable you to optimize the technical documentation and web-based documentation you will create and produce.

• Experience of working or willingness to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
