Job description

We are looking for an experienced, hardworking and proactive Domestic Couple to support an UHNW family at their beautiful 8 bedroom farm style holiday home in the Cotwolds. The family are London based and visit their secondary. home on occasional weekends and during school holidays. They have young children, and a beloved dog so a child friendly, family-oriented couple would be ideal.

The couple will be responsible for property maintenance and management, including DIY projects. Good knowledge of basic electrics and plumbing would be a real advantage. The ideal couple would have high standards when it comes to housekeeping, making sure the house and outbuildings are always ready for the family.

Working together as a Housekeeper/Cook and Houseman/Groundsperson team, you will maintain the upkeep of this country house and grounds to the highest standards and will oversee all functions of the housekeeping, laundry, ironing, gardening, and general maintenance of the property. With an excellent eye for detail, the lady of the couple will be responsible for day-to-day cleaning and organisation of the home, grocery shopping, laundry, and ironing, as well as cooking family style meals for the family when required.

The Houseman will be responsible for the exterior of the property and the grounds, including a swimming pool, tennis court, a beautiful kitchen garden and formal gardens, so excellent gardening experience is required. Further duties will include general DIY tasks in and around the home, errand running and occasional driving when required. This is a household where high standards are required at all times, and the role requires a hardworking and diligent couple who is happy to work independently, taking sole responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of this luxury property.

Usual working hours are from 8am-5pm, Monday – Friday. Flexibility would be required when the family are in residence. Accommodation is offered on-site in a spacious 2-bedroom cottage with a utility cloakroom and an open plan kitchen/living room.

HANDYMAN/GROUNDSPERSON DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
• Maintaining all electronic, including dealing with internet and phone service providers
• DIY projects around the property
• Security of the property
• Trouble-shooting of any faulty equipment
• Repairing any defects such as leaky pipes, cracks in walls etc.
• Managing external contractors as and when required
• Dealing quickly and responsibly with any issues that arise
• General cleaning and upkeep of the courtyard and patio
• Ad-hoc errands

HOUSEKEEPER/COOK DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
• Management of all household laundry, including clothing, linens etc.
• Cooking family style meals when required
• Daily cleaning and upkeep of the property
• Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the household
• Polishing antiques, marble and silverware
• Loading the dishwasher/doing the dishes
• Dusting furniture
• Hoovering the carpets and floors
• Ensuring all bedrooms are always clean

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Previous experience in a Couples role supporting a HNW family within a private household
• Very high attention to detail
• Team players
• A positive, can-do attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Good standard of written and spoken English
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Longevity as demonstrated by previous employment
• Able to prioritise and multitask effectively
• Full, clean driving licence
• Right to work within the UK
• Excellent checkable references
