Employer Engagement Coordinator
Home Based – with national travel
Full Time, Permanent
£27,000 + £33,000 + Company Car

Serco Skills and Training Services (STS) was formed in October 2023 to provide high quality government funded and commercial training solutions, and services to government departments, authorities, employers, and citizens.
The Employer Engagement Coordinator is a key role for the future success of STS, developing and retaining national and regional employer relationships to support recruitment of employer sponsored leaners onto skills programmes, to support job outcomes for unemployed learners, and to secure employer support and commitment for bids.
STS is a new function within Serco, as such the postholder will work in a ‘start up’ and fast paced environment. As such this role presents a fantastic opportunity to be part of something new, and to shape the future.
Key Accountabilities
- Follow up on employer web enquiries for training, making contact with employers within two working days
- Follow up on employer referrals/leads passed from Regional Sales Teams and Referral agencies, making contact with employers within two working days
- Conduct business needs analyses with employers to understand their needs and to identify where STS can support
- Achieve target levels of recruitment for employer-sponsored learners in our target sectors and programmes (apprenticeships, commercial courses, Adult Skills programmes)
- Understand learner demand for vacancies, and proactively source employers recruiting for vacancies that match the skills of unemployed learners
- Develop and maintain key employer relationships to secure job opportunities and guaranteed interviews for our learners
- Work collaboratively with the Delivery team to pre-screen learners to assess suitability for vacancies and create candidate shortlists and candidate profiles for employers recruiting
- Arrange and confirm interviews with employers, feeding back to candidates and delivery teams following interview
- Feedback to delivery team on candidate progress into vacancies
- Maintain a good understanding of the local and regional labour market for informed operational delivery
- Work with employers to gather evidence to support outcomes (interview confirmations, job offers, and starts)
- Support the Employer Engagement Manager to plan and host employer events and webinars to promote STS's services and to raise brand awareness
- Regularly attend business network events and job fairs to increase STS’s industry presence and to develop positive working relationships with stakeholders and employers
- Work with Marketing & Communications to develop high-quality case studies to celebrate customer success
- Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the level of responsibility.
What I need to do the role
- Previous experience and successful track record in commercial recruitment, sales, business development or employer engagement
- Experience of employer engagement/account management in the adult skills sector
- Experience of working in a performance target driven environment.
- Good knowledge of local labour market and growth sectors
- Proven ability to build collaborative, professional internal and external relationships
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, using a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behaviour)
- Experience of delivering CEIAG within an education and skills environment desirable
