Trainee Teaching Assistant - Ystrad Mynach

£11.85 - 12.30 Hourly Rate

Full Time Monday - Friday (32.5hrs)

Contracts available for those performing well!

Trainee Teaching Assistant required for a special school in Ystrad Mynach working with primary aged pupils with additional needs. As a Trainee Teaching Assistant you will work directly with the learners in class and be provided training through the school as well as having access to CPD courses through Teaching Personnel!

Our School: Our school supports learners from nursery aged up to further education with additional learning needs. No two classes are the same so staff must be adaptable and willing to work with learners with a variety of needs including Autism, Down's, Speech and Language Needs, Sensory Impairement and Severe Learning Difficulties.

The role of a Trainee Teaching Assistant is to be the link between teacher and student, helping with the smooth running of lessons and supporting the students throughout the school day.

You will work with small groups of learners and 1 to 1 with learners in small classes helping them complete activities set out by the teacher.

As the learners have additional needs some learners may have behavioural needs therefore we are looking for a Trainee Teaching Assistant that is confident managing behavioural and unfazed by challenging behaviour.

We are looking for someone that is interested in developing their career within the education sector and that is passionate about supporting people with additional needs. To be a successful Trainee Teaching Assistant you must be able to build effective bonds with students and able to use your initiative while working in a team environment.

To work in schools you must hold:

An Enhanced DBS

Up-to-date registeration with the Education Workforce Council

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
